Bone regeneration has clot stabilization and space maintenance for a certain duration as basic principles to allow cells and signaling molecules to interact within the 3-dimensional limits of the scaffold provided.

This webinar, facilitated by Prof. Darko Božić, will be focus on the biological rationale and the clinical applications of innovative slowly and totally resorbable regenerative materials applied in different clinical scenarios of bone defects needing augmentation.

Prof. Darko Božić

Prof. Božić works at the Department of Periodontology, School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb, Croatia. He is also the head of the Clinic for Periodontology at University Clinical Hospital, the biggest Croatian hospital, and holds a private clinic. He is the immediate past president of the European Federation of Periodontology - EFP and the former president of the Croatian Society of Periodontology. Prof. Božić's clinical work focuses on reconstructing soft and hard tissues in periodontitis patients, with a research interest in the application of growth factors, specifically BMPs and Hyaluronic acid in regenerative procedures and soft tissue reconstruction using various collagen matrices. He is a frequent speaker at international meetings talking about soft and hard tissue reconstruction in advanced periodontitis patients.

Dr. Roberto Abundo

M.D., D.D.S. From 1994 to 2005 Adjunct Professor in Periodontology at the University of Torino and from 2006 to 2016 Adjunct Professor in Periodontology at the University of Pennsylvania (USAHe currently leads the Continuing Education Course in Periodontal Plastic Surgery at Humanitas University in Milan, Italy. Active Member of S.I.d.P. (Italian Society of Periodontology) and I.A.O. (Italian Academy of Osseointegration). Winner of the H. M. Goldman Prize for Clinical Research in Periodontology (2000) and the E.A.O. Prize for Clinical Research in Implantology (2010). Author of numerous publications in international journals and co-author, with Dr. Giuseppe Corrente, of two textbooks on periodontal and implantology topics. Scientific Director of Dentalmedtv, a dental web TV, and practices periodontal and implant surgery at Sicor in Torino.
